Publishing Consultant:

• The publishing consultant explains the author all the services and the publishing process. They help finalize the payment plan and sign the contract.

ISBN Process:

• ISBN is International Standard Book Number and is a unique government verified number which ensures exclusivity of the entity for which it is obtained. It creates work’s authentic identification ensuring its exclusivity and protects it from fraud. It is a thirteen-digit exclusive number allotted to a title by the authorized agency. In India, the ISBN is allotted to a book by the govt. agency Raja Ram Mohan Roy and can be applied either individually or through a registered publishing house. Changes in certain specifications like edition, format, etc, may require a fresh ISBN allotment. We, at Blue Rose, get ISBN through the authorized agency and at times buy it from our international partners. Each format should be published with a separate ISBN. Paperback, hardbound and eBook format of the same book will have different ISBNs. 3-5 business working days. ISBN is issued by Government of INDIA.

Publication Manager:

• The publishing manager is the one point of contact for the authors for completion of all the services as agreed upon per the final payment plan.
• Cover Design Suggestions A good cover design is the first impression of a book upon the reader. Our highly professional and skilled design team ensures that the book is an eye-catcher when it comes out in the market. We have a wide array of stock photos and templates corresponding to the author’s idea. The design team will contact the author for ideas and will create something unique out of it.
• Note: The designer will start working on the cover design once the author has submitted the entire back cover matter and the design suggestions. The cover design suggestions vary as per the chosen package. There are however, up to 2 revisions/ modifications allowed in the selected design. Further revisions may cost extra.

Illustrations:

Illustrations are any sort of drawings or graphics which either support the content aesthetically in order to beautify it, or provide information about the subject of the content. We provide illustrations in black and white as well as color, depending on the author’s requirement.

Editing of up to 50,000 words Editing is the most vital part of publishing any content. Unfiltered content can be distracting for the readers and can have them preoccupied with errors which damages the author’s reputation as a professional. We have a team of experts in English, Tamil, Malyalam, Telugu, Hindi and other regional languages that make sure the manuscript becomes error-free before it goes for print. Grammatical appropriateness, spelling-check, tense, punctuation, sentence formation, and style of writing are implemented on a raw manuscript to refine the content and make it more reader-friendly and clear. Editing can be categorized into Copy and Substantive editing bases the refinement pattern.

Copy Editing: In this the spelling mistakes, grammatical errors, punctuation and capitalizations are rectified. The spacing between words is also inspected.

• 1 layer of copy-editing: 1 editor will go through the entire manuscript and will rectify the grammatical errors. This ensures 80-85% accuracy.
• 2 layers of copy-editing: Editing will be done twice by 2 different editors. This ensures 90-95% accuracy.

Substantive Editing: In substantive editing, the editor considers the manuscript’s concept and intended use, organization, design, and style. The purpose is to enhance and enrich the content, not just to make it correct and consistent.

• Note: The editor, being a human is also bound to miss out on a few errors. Though our experts cross check the entire manuscript after editing, for any repeated errors, we still cannot guarantee to fix all flaws in the script. Author is expected to go through the complete file at least once, before giving the approval for the next step.
• Layout & Formatting & Superior Design & Beautification Layout is the designing of the manuscript into a book form. It consists of formatting, which is the change of fonts, font size, font color and space between margins that typically comes under the category of Typesetting. Our team provides with the most aesthetically appeasing and reader-friendly clarity of layout design and formatting of the fonts per the recommended Chicago manual and international industry standards to help leave a lasting impression upon the readers’ mind as they flip through the pages of the book. Our team mostly works on InDesign software and MS Word.
• Basic Layout: This entails the regular formatting following the international standards. No special request of beautification is accommodated.
• Enhanced & Superior Layout: This accommodates all special requests such as watermarks, vectors and other complex design requirements to make the script look appealing. Usually academic scripts or scripts with too many images or tables are formatted with enhanced layout.
• Note: There are up to two modifications allowed in the typeset version shared.

Printing & eBook:

Author Complimentary Copies Author copies are the complimentary or free copies of a book which are provided by the publisher to the author. We provide a certain number of free author copies, depending on the package chosen. If the author wants extra copies apart from the promised number, we can customize the package according to the author’s needs. The authors can also buy the extra copies at the production cost from the Author Dashboard.

Format - Paperback/ Hardbound We provide the book in physical form as well as in electronic form. We offer Paperback and Hardbound formats which define the density of book externally. Paperback version is inclusive in all the projects. Hardbound version is available as an add on service for Basic, Essential and Popular projects. Authors opting for Premium and Premium Plus can have their book printed in any one format of their choice.

Book Size From pocket-book size to coffee-table book sizes, we can customize the book’s external appearance according to author’s demands. The regular size which we generally provide across all packages, unless otherwise customized, is 5 x 8 inches (~A5).

A1 Grade Paper Quality The feel of a book’s pages determines the reader’s reading experience greatly. Rough or coarse paper quality will not leave the same impression as a soft, velvety feel would. We provide A1 quality of paper in the shades of natural white, sunshine yellow and colored variants accommodating the author’s desire. Imported papers like Stora for natural shade and Maplitho for white are generally used.

Lamination (Matte/ Gloss) Lamination prevents paper products from becoming creased, faded, water damaged, wrinkled, stained, smudged, abraded, or marked by grease or fingerprints. We provide the best lamination for the book in matte and gloss.

eBook with Global Reach An eBook is an electronic version of a book which can be read over an electronic gadget such as a laptop, mobile phone or tablet. Keeping up with the busy schedule and technological era, we provide an e-book conversion of the manuscript which gives the book an on-the-go reading experience. We make the e-book version available in BCS Digital library.
